Located on Lemon Bay, off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, Englewood is a picturesque community that boasts a rich history and incredible natural splendor. Englewood is so lovely that counties Charlotte and Sarasota (along Florida’s Gulf Coast) insist on sharing in its beauty. The Charlotte County portion is part of the Punta Gorda Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the Sarasota County portion is part of the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Englewood is home to beautiful beaches, several hidden islands, cultural events, natural parks and more. One of Englewood’s barrier islands, Manasota Key, is a peaceful 7-mile stretch of the most PRISTINE and natural beaches in the area, including Englewood Beach, Manasota Beack, Stump Pass Beach and Blind Pass Beach. Drive along Manasota Key will lead you along a scenic path of 50’s-style beach homes and unspoiled mangroves where you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Mexico.

Englewood’s uncrowded beach is pure and wide and has outstanding accommodations, a boardwalk, playground, restrooms, picnic tables, BBQ grills and changing facilities. Just south, you’ll find a fantastic place for shelling and finding sharks’ teeth called Blind Pass Park. The northern-most beach is Sarasota County’s Manasota Beach, which is popular for its tranquil environment and is the only public beach in Englewood with a lifeguard and has a no smoking policy. There’s no doubt whichever beach you visit in Englewood is sure to be a relaxing and memorable experience.

Englewood is a beach community which offers a wide range of activities like world-class fishing, sailing, canoeing, power boating and kayaking. In addition, you will find various gold courses, tennis clubs, arts and entertainment. There are also numerous parks that can be found in the Englewood area. A few of the most recognized in the community are Ann Dever Memorial Regional Park, Lemon Bay Park and Nature Center, and Cedar Point Environmental Park.
