Ruskin – Little Harbor

This district located at the South Shore seawas originally settled by Calloosa Indians then the Spanish arrived and settled there too. In the early 1900s, Bahia Beach area could be seen with steamer boats traveling between Bradenton and Tampa, passing thru St. Petersburg, Palmetto and Anna Maria Island. Decades after, Paul and Lyle Dickman established a 37-acre beach front getaway, the first resort at Bahia Beach. During the early 2000s the place was renamed Little Harbor. Since then, Bahia Beach was called Little Harbor and progressed like the rest of South Shore areas.

Lots of independent business entities boomed within the Little Harbor featuring the new single family homes, the marina, the Freedom Boat Club offering water sport rentals, restaurants such as the Sunset Grill and Hooks Restaurant.
